The Rule 500GPH Electronic Sensing Bilge Pump – 12 V is an automatic marine bilge pump designed to remove water from your boat’s bilge without the need for a traditional float switch. Instead of relying on a float, it uses an electronic sensing system based on impeller resistance: the pump powers on briefly every ~2½ minutes to check for water, and if water is detected, it continues running until the bilge is cleared. This makes it excellent for power‑conscious applications and situations where float switches might fail or clog.
